Shakespeare Uncovered

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s funniest plays. We look past the fairies and donkeys to find a man deeply connected to nature.

Using our local landscape of longleaf forests, sinkholes, and springs, we explore the Bard’s words like never before.

WFSU's television and radio producers collaborate to create a fresh perspective on the works of William Shakespeare. WFSU-TV leads viewers into the woods with Oberon, Titania and Puck for a uniquely-Florida spin on the "bard's" words. Subsequently, WFSQ-FM's Dan MacDonald takes listeners on a musical journey through time, exploring different interpretations of the music of Shakespeare's productions. See and hear A Midsummer Night's Dream like never before, leading up to a new season of Shakespeare Uncovered on WFSU-TV.

Debuting on WFSU-TV in early 2015, SHAKESPEARE UNCOVERED combines history, biography, iconic performances, new analysis, and the personal passions of its celebrated hosts to tell the "stories behind the stories" of some of Shakespeare's greatest plays.

We are proud to announce that WFSU has been chosen as one of ten public television stations to receive funds to develop local productions and face-to-face community events related to SHAKESPEARE UNCOVERED. We have parterned with The Southern Shakespeare Festival, Tall Timbers Reasearch Station & Land ConservancyFriends of Wakulla Springs, and Palmetto Expeditions to bring to Tallahassee a unique look at Shakespeare's work A Midsummer Night's Dream.
