Media Literacy Workshops
An award from The Dugas Family Foundation will expand our Raising Readers program into Walton and Okaloosa Counties. Through this project, children in Title I schools will participate in Super Why Summer Reading Camps and Martha Speaks Reading Buddy Programs.
Hamilton County Schools are geared up for an exciting summer of learning, and WFSU is there to help! Reading enrichment programs, mixed with reading readiness and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) is on the menu for learning as well. WFSU made a debut training for media and technology infusions into their curriculum on June 7th, 2011 and is expected for follow-up workshops on June 28th, 2011 and again in mid-July, 2011. Programs like the Electric Company, FETCH, Martha Speaks, Cyberchase and even Super Why will be welcomed additions for fun learning since our characters know just how to generate excitement and humor into everyday subject matter and the Florida Sunshine Standards for Learning!
