Style: Sanders v. State, No. 87,231

Facts: Sanders was convicted of first-degree murder and was sentenced to death. Onappeal, he argues that the trial court erred in excusing a prospective juror for cause; inlimiting the defense's cross-examination of a state witness; in allowing a psychologistoriginally retained by the defense to testify for the state; in refusing to instruct the jury thatan alternative sentence was life without parole; in giving an erroneous instruction at thesentencing phase; in failing to consider the treatment of another man alleged to beinvolved in the murder; in rejecting defendant's age of 20 as a mitigating circumstance;and in imposing a death sentence.

Issues: (1) Whether the conviction should be reversed.

(2) Whether the death sentence should be reversed.
