Ramirez, then 17 years old, and Johnathan P. Grimshaw allegedly killed Mildred Boroski in a field near her home in Veteran's Village. Her body was found nearby a few days later, dead of bullets to the head. After Ramirez was tried and convicted, the jury recommended the death penalty by 11-to-1. The judge agreed.
