Gonzalez was convicted and sentenced to death for the Jan. 3, 1992, murder of police officer Steven Bauer during a robbery of the Kislak National Bank. On appeal, a new sentencing was ordered due to errors at trial. At the new proceeding, Gonzalez again was sentenced to death. He appeals.
