Torrey sued Leesburg Regional and others for damages allegedly sustained in the death of Helen Rose Woodard, whose estate she represented. The suit was not signed by Torrey, however, but by a Michigan attorney not licensed to practice law in Florida. The trial court dismissed the suit. On appeal, the Fifth District Court held that the signature was not legally sufficient.
