Transcript:

Summary:

Mr. Woodel was sentenced to death for the murders of Clifford and Bernice Moody, who were fatally stabbed in 1996. This Court vacated those death sentences due to an inadequate sentencing order and granted Mr. Woodel a new sentencing phase. At his re-sentencing, Mr. Woodel was sentenced to life for Mr. Moody's murder and to death for Mrs. Moody's murder. This Court upheld the death sentence on direct appeal. Later, Mr. Woodel filed a post-conviction challenge in trial court, where his death sentence was vacated but his first-degree murder conviction upheld.
