Summary:

Mr. Bailey was convicted of the first-degree murder of police Sgt. Kevin Kight, who was fatally shot after he stopped Mr. Bailey for a traffic infraction in 2005. The jury voted 11-1 to recommend a death sentence and the trial court condemned Mr. Bailey. This Court upheld the death sentence on direct appeal and Mr. Bailey filed a postconviction challenge in trial court. It was denied and this appeal followed.
