Mr. Guardado pled guilty to the first-degree murder of Jackie Malone, who was fatally beaten and stabbed in 2004. The jury voted unanimously to recommend a death sentence and the trial court condemned Mr. Guardado. This Court upheld the death sentence on direct appeal and Mr. Guardado filed a post-conviction challenge in trial court. It was denied and this appeal followed.
