Mr. Daniels was convicted of the second-degree murder of Amanda Lynn Fanter, who was fatally shot in 2007. He was sentenced to life in prison with a required minimum sentence of 25 years. On appeal, he argued the trial court made a fundamental error in the jury instructions. The Second District Court of Appeal upheld the conviction and sentence and Mr. Daniels asked this Court to review the case.
