Building Healthy Lifestyles for Our Children
Targeting parents and childcare providers of children 0-8
Thursday, February 8th, 2007 - 5:00-6:30 pm
Location: Lake Jackson Branch Library
| PBS - READY TO LEARN WORKSHOP
The early years are a crucial time in children’s lives to nurture lifelong healthy habits. Between 2 and 5 years of age, children begin to develop food preferences and their bodies change rapidly – physical control, motor skills and balance improve, and their muscles get stronger. Children at this age are very curious about the world and how it works, and their earliest explorations often begin with learning about their bodies. Come learn with Sesame Street and other PBS programs about the important role caregivers play in helping children develop a healthy lifestyle. Through interactive games and activities you will learn fun new creative ideas to introduce children to the importance of eating healthy foods, physical activity, hygiene, rest and relaxation.
All participants will receive children’s books and activity guides.
Childcare will be provided.
