| TALLAHASSEE - An organization session is a legislative session mandated by the Florida Constitution to take place on the 14th day after each general election. The purpose of the session is to install new leaders, elect officers and adopt rules. During an organization session, the Senate President and House Speaker often appoint committee chairs and members so that work can begin in preparation for the regular session. |
